Emperor In Exile is more than an album. Over the coming months we'll be sharing studio sessions, historical discoveries, artwork development and the journey towards the digital album release on 31st August 2026 and the vinyl album release during Black History Month in October 2026. 

2026 marks the 90th anniversary of Haile Selassie's arrrival in Bath during August 1936 and 70th Anniversary of his return to The City of Bath to recieve the honour - Freedom of the City in 1956. Over the 12 months following HIM Earthday celebration on 23rd of July 2026, we'll be observing important events around the city related to the story and adding new content to the project as we go. 

The second major event following Earthday - was Summer Lates hosted by The Roman Baths where Fairfield House DJs took over the vinyl decks and among many classic reggae tracks played the demo copy of Emperor in Exile. The one-off specially cut disc is the first physical artifact to be added to the Emperor in Exile project. The event was very popular and well attended. Fairfield House DJs hope to be invited back to host another evening of lively music and dancing.
